Biography

Crystal Colombini received her Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition Emphasis, from the University of Nevada, Reno. Her main research interests lie in contemporary rhetorical theory and are specifically focused on rhetorics of risk, rhetoric and economics, and rhetorical literacies. She is currently at work on her first book project, entitled Rhetorics of Risk in American Homeownership, a critical exploration of how rhetorical communication about homeownership and risk influenced the decision-making that culminated in the post-2007 mortgage crisis. She also researches, writes, and publishes on writing assessment and linguistics.
